I am so thankful for those that stopped by during the first week of Five Generations General Store and Apothecary's opening! I appreciate that you took time out of your busy lives to stop in; sometimes it seems easier to say you'll do it later or just quick order what you need from Amazon instead - it makes a difference to those of us who have local businesses and we thank you! Thanks also to those who reached out to let me know they will be stopping by sometime soon - looking forward to seeing you!

The first week was a success I think, great to see some familiar faces and those I have just met and will look forward to seeing again. I am working hard on restocking some items as well as creating and making some new products and natural remedies.

A few new items you can find in store in the coming weeks are: eczema salve, new lotion scents, liquid soap for hand washing, hand sanitizers, new first aid items, and more. I really believe in natural care as much as possible, herbs and essential oils are very powerful and can help us heal by supporting our bodies without side effects that OTC or prescription drugs can cause. I hope you stop by and check out the new items. Also, I will be having certified organic seedlings coming this spring - tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and flowers - many varieties you can't find anywhere else!

Farm update: we have just installed our hydroponics system so we are excited to have some fresh produce in the winter. Another project I am working on is - microgreens! Microgreens are tiny plants that are picked soon after sprouting and the cotyledon leaves have developed. They have a concentrated amount of vitamins and minerals and are a tasty superfood. Add to salads and sandwiches for a boost of nutrition.

In the coming weeks I will be selling microgreens in the shop, this is a great way to add some fresh, local produce to your diet! Soon it will be greenhouse time, this is one of my favorite times of year - so much potential in these tiny seeds! Thousands of seeds to be planted and tended before spring - can't wait!

I am also working hard to update my website to include more products, it has been taking more time than I thought! I have many more items in store than online but I am hoping to get that updated in the next few weeks too.
